Sub museum!

Submarines have come to fascinate me the more I learn about them. Imagine being a U-Boat crew mate, 3 month missions at a time, maybe only getting to see daylight 2 hours of the entire 3 months.

Kully's kustom made fins!

The objective to making fins is very simple. The reason you see fins in various places is for heating purposes. Fins allow areas that heat up to stay cool allowing more surface area. The more surface area you have the cooler the area will stay. So what I did is build up welds for rows (fins) and grind and sand very tediously and eventually I had what are symmetrical fins. I decided to do this inside the scoop of my front hub to keep heat down and most importantly I think it looks quite elegant.

Look mom ;)

I was feeling the need to do something edgy. I needed to cast something and blend it in somewhere on the bike to show a little craftsmanship;) this is what I came up with. Look mom I put a skull with a horn on my rocker top!

You can't get this from S & S :)

As you can see I have moved my exhaust port over about 2 inches and canted the other direction. This is what use to be my intake port. Keep posted I will be smoothing it and building fins up to it. I want it to look like it was cast that way :)

Twin carb shovel

The twin carb conversion is a process. As you can see the front head will stay exactly the same. But the rear head will be highly modified. I will be reversing the duties of the intake and exhaust valves. Also, both the intake and exhaust ports (flanges) will have to be changed and moved. You can see in the picture that I ground out the new exhaust port which was the stock intake and I will be moving it about two inches for clearance purposes. I will post more pictures of the process over the next few days.

Rocker shaft oilers.

I decided I wanted to go out of the ordinary with the upstairs oilers. So I tapped into the cross tubes on the inside of the rocker tops directly on the front. I will be putting two banjo fittings on each rocker top creating a 1 into 4 as it leaves the case.

Yo where can I get one of those !

Lock Baker at his best. Over the course of an afternoon I watched my teacher cast a ring blank in house and then carve out a skull entirely with a few dremal tools and his imagination. He did not cast all the detail, he carved it, which I think is much more rad! He is an artist!

Have you ever been carried away with a rotary file?

I decided I wanted to shave my cases a bit to give them a Kully millage twist, I did just that and then some. ;)
